It has been a busy year of transition for Precision Martial Arts Academy (PMAA) as we moved into our beautiful new facility, now located at 105, 15 Circle Drive in St. Albert, Alberta. As we all prepare to celebrate this Holiday Season with our loved ones and embark on another year of setting personal and professional goals, I wish to share some highlights of 2018 with our valued Members/Students and Families at PMAA.
October 2017 – January 2018
PMAA relocated and hosted a very successful Grand Opening. Renovations and final touches were finally completed by the start of 2018.
Master Derek Sadler was in studio as a Special Guest on CTV’s Alberta Prime Time discussing “Should MMA be banned among Youth?”
January to June 2018
PMAA invested in an incredible new website (www.pmaa.ca) to act as an information and training resource. Photo galleries, YouTube training videos, PDFs and resource links are available to keep Students and Parents engaged and well informed.
PMAA welcomed many new Students and Families as they registered for Taekwondo and our various Fitness Programs.
PMAA opened our 2nd Branch Club, 1st was the Royal Glenora Club (RGC) and the 2nd, at the Castle Downs Family YMCA. Chris Murray has been designated as RGC’s Head Instructor and Paulo Ferreira as the CD YMCA’s Head Instructor. Both Branch Clubs now have over 30 students and growing.
Master Derek Sadler was proudly showcased as the cover story in the March/April 2018 edition of YEG Fitness Magazine.
PMAA promoted 12 Students to the prestigious levels of 1st and 2nd Degree Black Belt.
PMAA implemented a new and exciting Student Training Guide with new Curriculum and Promotion Test Requirements. Since then, our Promotions Tests, Student’ motivation and readiness is at an all time high.
My wife, Leah implemented a NEW Fitness Program at PMAA on Saturday mornings called POUND®… “Rockout. Workout.” Class participants are loving the energy, music and fun with the Ripstix® (Drum Sticks).
PMAA was proudly nominated for the 2018 St. Albert Small Business of Distinction Award.
PMAA hosted a very successful and super fun Halloween Costume and Potluck Party. Over 160 people came throughout the day.
PMAA proudly celebrated our 22nd Anniversary and 1st Anniversary in St. Albert, AB.
PMAA has been nominated as BEST Martial Arts Studio in Edmonton, AB by YEG Fitness Magazine. Winners will be selected at a private Gala and Awards Ceremony in February 2019.
Master Derek Sadler has been selected by Taekwondo Canada to travel to Quebec in January for the 2019 Taekwondo National Championships to deliver a Workshop, evaluate High Performance Coaches and train to be certified as 1/3 Master Coach Developers in Canada. He was also selected as an International Referee (IR) to be a Poomsae Judge at the event.
PMAA proudly promoted 9 of our Lil Panther Students as well as several others. We also promoted our newest Member to our Black Belt Family, congratulations to Lalit Gaur for achieving his 1st Dan Black Belt.
